Job Description
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach all assigned classes, which may include evening or off-campus assignments unless excused according to Board Policy provisions. Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, and academic progress. Assist in maintaining course outline for each assigned course. Be familiar with and observe the administrative regulations as they appear in the Faculty Handbook (flex calendar obligations, course overviews, etc). Participate in department committees and activities. Will teach a variety of courses/levels within the discipline/area of study.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSRequirementsMinimum Qualifications (Applicants must meet one of the following):
- Possess from an accredited institution: a Master's in any biological science OR a Bachelor's in any biological science AND Master's in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science OR
- Possess a valid California Community College credential, OR
- The equivalent (applicants who do not meet the above minimum qualifications must complete the Equivalencies Section in the application form).
- Equivalencies that the Department accepts as valid: Advancement to candidacy for Ph.D. with all coursework completed for the degree in any biological science or sub-discipline listed below, OR master's degree equivalence in any sub-discipline listed below OR a bachelors degree in any sub-discipline below AND a Masters degree in a similar field with at least 15 units of coursework in any of the fields below as as approved by the biology department faculty. Sub-disciplines of biology include but are not limited to: anatomy, animal science, animal behavior, animal physiology, bioinformatics, biotechnology, botany, cell and molecular biology, ecology, embryology/developmental biology, entomology, environmental science, molecular environmental biology, environmental studies, environmental biology, evolutionary biology, genetics, genomics, genomics biology, genomic studies, molecular biology, molecular and genomics biology, molecular and genomic studies, genomics science, histology, herpetology, ichthyology, immunology, marine biology, marine science, microbiology, mammology, ornithology, physiology, plant biology, plant science, agriculture science, plant related sciences, systematics, zoology, paleobotany/paleozoology, OR M.D./D.O.Neterinary medicine. These qualifications are equivalent to the minimum qualifications.
- Experience in teaching students from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds and widely varying levels of proficiency preferred.
- A working knowledge of and experience with student learning outcomes and assessment.

Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) is one of the most established districts in the state and has been in operation for nearly 50 years.
