Description:
The Department of Environmental Science at Baylor University seeks an outstanding environmental scientist with an emphasis on Environmental Systems Resilience at the rank of Assistant Professor to join our dynamic and growing faculty in pursuing essential research questions that address the strategic goals of our university. We encourage applications from candidates with expertise in studying the combined effects of various stressors, such as pollution and other anthropogenic environmental alterations, on the stability and resilience of natural and human-modified systems. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research involves ecosystem dynamics and applied ecology and addresses some of our time's most pressing environmental challenges, including climate change, habitat loss, and biodiversity decline. The position is slated to begin in August 2025.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the potential to establish a rigorous externally funded research program, mentor doctoral students through the Ph.D. in Environmental Science, engage undergraduate students in research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and contribute to service to the community.

  • a conferred doctoral degree is required at the time of appointment
  • established record of research productivity is preferred
  • college-level teaching is preferred
